Consignment Guidelines

Consigning
Small, easily carried items are accepted by appointment Tuesday – Friday 11:15-6pm. Thursday nights we are open till 8pm for your convenience. “Drop ins” are accommodated whenever possible - please call ahead. Appointments take an average of 30 min. Feel free to look around the store as we list and price your items. If you are in a hurry you may also drop your items off and let us price them for you. We appreciate your bringing items in good condition that are clean and ready to be displayed. There is a minimum selling price of $20.00 (retail value of $40.00).

Large furniture needs to be approved in advance by photograph or digital image. You may email digital images to galleryst.elmo@gmail.com. Once approved, large items will be assigned an agreeable date and can be delivered Monday through Saturday.

Pricing
Our staff is knowledgeable in pricing your items. The more information can provide and research you can do ahead of time assists in the consignment process. Your own inventory sheet with suggested prices is welcome. Most items we cannot accept for consignment are not marketable or duplicates of items already in the shop.

We have a great turnover rate but if by chance your furniture doesn’t sell we can donate it for you and give you the tax receipts. The consignment period is 90 days. Checks are mailed to consignors the first week of each month. Items will be reduced by 10 % after 30 days and again by 10% after 60 days. The consignor will receive 50% of the selling price for each item sold for under $1,000. For any item sold for over $1,000, the consignor receives 60%. Items left after the 90 day contracted period will be considered abandoned and become property of the shop.

Purchasing
We sell generations of fine home furnishings whose prices are firmly set by contract with each owner and reduced as shown on each tag.

Small items may go home for a 24 hour trial if arranged in advance. Otherwise, all sales are final.

If you need time to decide, items can be put on hold for you. The shop allows a two week layaway and also offers the convenience of Discover, Visa and Mastercard purchasing.

Pickup and Delivery
If you need help, we can provide a list of movers who have proven to be reasonable and reliable. Please remove your furniture purchases within 3 days.
